Regulation 23 — Safeguarding health, safety and welfare of child
- General Safety: 1. Four staff members garda vetting disclosures were not dated within the previous three years in adherence to with the Early Years Inspectorate Regulatory Notice ‘EYI-RN12.3 Renewal of Garda Vetting’. Infection Control: 2. Throughout the service there were hand operated bins for the disposal of contaminated waste which poses a risk of cross infection. All bins for contaminated waste must be foot operated with a tight fitting lid
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective & Preventive Action General Safety: 1.One staff member has left the service. The 3 staff members garda vetting have been renewed. The registered provider will ensure that all garda vetting are renewed every 3 years. Infection Control: 2.All bins for contaminated waste have been replaced with foot operated bins with a tight fitting lid. The registered provider will ensure that foot pedal operated bins are available for contaminated waste on a daily basis
