Regulation 9 — Management and recruitment
- The registered provider did not ensure the following: (2)(a)(b) One staff member required a second validated reference from either a recent employer or a reputable source. (4) There was no documentary evidence available that one staff member who worked directly with children attending the service held at least a major award in Early Childhood Care and Education at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework or a relevant qualification deemed equivalent by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth Affairs
Provider's corrective action:
- Corrective Action (2)(a)(b) The staff member in question is no longer employed at Belgrave Montessori School. (4) The staff member in question is no longer employed at Belgrave Montessori School. Preventive Action (2)(a)(b) The manager in charge of employing new staff has been informed by word and by email that all new staff must have two validated references. (4) The manager in charge of employing new staff has been informed by word and by email that all new staff working directly with children must hold a relevant qualification of at least NQF Level 5 or relevant qualification deemed equivalent by the DCEDIY
